Starting School

When your child begins school, they have an exciting time ahead. But first, there are many things to which they must become accustomed ‑ going to a special building every day, following a different routine, mixing with a large number of children, and being with adults other than their parents for many hours. It will take them a little time to adjust, but gradually, their teacher will help your child to share activities and discussions with fellow pupils.

The teacher will help your child explore the many new sights and sounds of their expanding world. Soon your child will be able to read and to write their thoughts. It may not be at the same time as other children. You waited until your child was ready to sit up and to walk and then helped them with their first attempts to do so. So will the teacher watch and encourage until your child is ready to do more complicated tasks and then help them to master them.
